About
I am a UK based session drummer, drum teacher and cruise ship musician and have been playing drums for over 20 years. Since graduating from Leeds College of Music in 2020, I have worked with many musicians and bands, most notably with my function band ‘The Great Escape’ and for the past 3 years I have worked for P&O Cruises on ships playing with the party band ‘Pulse’ and ‘The Limelight Band’. Alongside performing I have been teaching private tuition helping drummers of all abilities develop their playing and achieve their goals.
I am a versatile musician, proficient across many styles and genres of music, as well as being an accomplished sight reader with experience playing to click and track and also comfortable playing completely live.
My work has seen me travel across the UK and the globally including the Caribbean season onboard P&O Arvia in 2024/25 and more recently exploring Scandinavia.
Please explore my website and get in touch for any drumming or teaching queries, I look forward to hearing from you!
Cruise Ships
I began working for P&O Cruises in 2023 onboard the cruise ship Iona performing with the party band ‘Pulse’ and then later joined ‘The Limelight Band’.
Following this contract I then joined P&O Arvia in 2024 for the 5.5 Caribbean season contract solely with ‘The Limelight Band’.
‘The Limelight Band’ has the primary role of performing with guest acts that join the ship for a week at a time. Often these shows would be sight read with little rehearsal time. The guest acts varied across X Factor finalists and winners, West End Performers and also Drag Queens.A few people I have performed with in The Limelight Band include: La Voix, Matt Terry, Alice Fearn, Lee Mead, Gareth Gates, Ray Quinn and Kevin Simm and many more.
Following my Arvia contract I joined P&O Azura for a year spanning two contracts to be the bandleader in Pulse, responsible for running the band onboard. Whilst mostly playing party sets we would also occasionally back tribute shows visiting the ship including Rachael Hawnt as ‘Cher’, Dean Richardson’s Freddie Mercury and Andrew Browning as ‘George Michael’.
My most recent contract commenced in April 2026 onboard P&O’s flagship Britannia, once again playing with Pulse and concluded in September 2026.
I have been fortunate to visit a huge variety of countries as well as perform to thousands of guests across the years playing onboard P&O Cruises.
If you are a musician looking to get into cruise work or simply are just interested to know more please ask questions I would love to chat about it!
The Great Escape
Formed in 2019 in Leeds, ‘The Great Escape’ have played weddings, birthday parties, festivals and student unions regularly across the UK.
The band was active for 5 years and stopped performing in 2024 as all members pursued their individual music careers as well as my decision to pursue my career on cruise ships. However we do all still work as full time musicians and collaborate regularly on different projects, we look back fondly on the 5 years working together in ‘The Great Escape’.
Theatre
I am a proficient sight reader which has enabled me to have played many musical theatre shows, mostly with amateur dramatics societies. Most notably ‘Legally Blonde’, ‘Oliver!’, ‘Joseph’ and ‘Calendar Girls’ and well as local pantomimes.
I have also played in the theatres onboard the cruise ships I have worked on, playing for tribute shows including ‘The Blondie Experience’ with Lucy Edge and ‘Cream of Clapton’ with Paul Ruck.
My work playing in ‘The Limelight Band’ onboard P&O Cruises Iona and Arvia have led to me working with a number of West End performers including Alice Fearn, Joel Harper Jackson, Rob Houchen and Jenna Lee James. Working with these West End professionals was an invaluable experience and insight into the world of West End performing and has prepared me to continue playing musical theatre shows.
